Matter of Opinion

So... There are a couple of things that I need to kind of get off my mind at the moment. I downloaded the latest Game Central Podcast and watched the VMA footage that I could get my hands on last night while I was at work.

First I guess I'll start with the Podcast. The sum of what I am taking from the Podcast was that people obviously see things in different lights... I understand that I like to game. Yes there are times where I seem distant when some one tries to talk to me at such a time, reference the picture above. I play WoW, not as much as people make me out to play. My question to the mass populace that decides to read this? Why does it matter what I do with my spare time, it's no different that someone who sits and plays another video game for hours on end, or is stuck playing on there phone while people are around. I really don't see the difference from locking yourself up in a room and reading a book alone. Maybe I'm just a bit bitter at the moment. I'm tired of being made fun of for doing something that I enjoy.

On another note I caught the footage of the Taylor Swift, Kanye West, and Beyonce matter at the VMA's. Needless to say. What Kanye did was pretty lame... Who the hell are you to say what is good and what is bad? Or better??? The fact the hundreds of thousands of people voted and chose the winner, who are you to shit on there opinions... You are one "Big Name" rapper who thinks that you are gods gift to music... Don't get me wrong a couple of songs are good. But, you are far from perfect... So get off your high horse. Grow up a bit. (I know he will never read this... Just venting.) As for Beyonce, just shows that fame doesn't destroy all parts of a human being. Kudos to her.

So I guess I'll leave it at the for the moment. Until the next time, peace!

So when it comes to World of Warcraft I'm pretty much down for any of the changes that come along the way. Today they showed the trailer to the new expansion to the game. I am actually really excited about it. There is only one issue that I have thus far. WHY NOW DO THEY LET THE TAURENS BE PALADINS!!!! Ugh.... LOL. I just started to play WoW again and was content with it. Now I wonder if I should just wait for the expansion to come out... Just so that way I can place the Race/Class I want to play! Oh well guess I'll figure it out one way or another.

Just another night.

Okay so first off! Look at that artwork!!! O.O That is sex on paper! LOL. It's a new card that is coming to Magic. I'm uber excited about it and hope that I'll land 4 copies of him. LOL.

So anyway, I'm at work and bored. Not much has been going on since the last time I wrote. I haven't been back to FNM. Just didn't feel like going last week and I have to work tomorrow night, maybe I'll go necxt week though. I think that'll be fun to do. :)

So I haven't been doing much, we did rearrange the apartment though. It's looking more and more like a home than a dorm. I will have to take pictures and post them soon. The living room is atking some getting used to, but I love the bedroom now!

I know it's not much, but I am just not feeling the urge to write at the moment, so until the next time, Peace.

My First Win!

So last night I went back to the "Little Shop of Magic", a small games hobby shop out here in vegas. I went there to participate in Friday Night Magic. Yes, I play Magic: the Gathering and love every second of it. :) I went not expecting to do well, but to my amazement I ended up winning the tournament. We ended up drafting Shards of Alara, Conflux, and Alara Reborn (Magic 2010 has pretty much sold out in every store here). Above is the deck I ended up playing with.

Through the drafting process, everyone was laughing and talking. Just having an all around good time. There was a big part of me that, at first, was telling me that I should have just drafted some of the rares that kept getting passed to me. I held back the urge... This time I wanted to play for real and see what came from it. So I tried to remember everything that I had learned from reading articles on Daily MTG and from "The Magic Show".

I ripped Sarkhan Vol from the first pack. It had pretty much set the tone for the rest of the first pack draft. (Red/Green right?) Well that didn't end up being the case. I kept it to pretty much Jund colors (Red/Green/Black) through most of it. The second Pack I ripped ended up having the Obelisk of Alara. I remember seeing someone on twitter posting something about not being able to get over that monster without a way to get rid of it. So I took it, almost deciding on the spot to start splashing white and blue into the deck. I was passed two Exploding Borders from the second pack draft which made me feel better about the other couple of Domain cards that I ended up picking up as well. At this point I knew I should be looking for mana fixing in the final pack. So I ended up taking the three borderposts (Looking back on how things happened, I wish I would have taken the Fieldmist over the Firewild Borderpost, would have helped a bit more with mana curve).

I ended up with only the two rares out of this draft! I was actually pretty proud of myself for sticking to it! Everyone started to build there decks right there at the table. I picked up my cards and moved to another empty table and started building. I didn't feel like talking about what choices I had made. At this point I was still pretty shaky about how I actually would do. I sucked it up and started building. then realizing. I wanted to try and include all five colors. I figured hey, I have the mana fixing (Sort of) to try it!

So I have to admit that these five cards (Well six if you want to count that I have two exploding borders) were the reason I ended up winning game after game. Sarkhan Vol and Obelisk of Alara are really hard to stop once they start moving. As long as I had a couple of creatures to block with I was able to get the Planeswalker to his ultimate ablilty. Behemoth Sledge plus Marisi's Twinclaws = Epic (At least that is how I felt everytime I landed them in play). Exploding Borders just brought the deck together when I needed to find the lone Island or one of the two Plains.

I played my way through five rounds. I won each round, two of which were 2-0 rounds. I was excited and at one point really really nervous. I think it was the third match that I actually started shaking and had to flip through cards in my hand to stop my hands from shaking. It was a feeling I am not used to at all but, I had so much fun. I won the FNM card which I forgot to bring with me (Sitting at work). So next time I'll make sure to post the final picture to it. Overall I had a ton of fun and was beyond happy with how I did. I thought back over all the times that I could have come and played but, decided against it. Now I wish I would have come and played more. Oh well, I plan on changing that from here on out! I had to much fun not to do it again!

Boring night at work.

So it's another night at work and I am bored as all hell here. There is only so much web browsing you can do before you get really really bored! lol. On a lighter note though, my mom is back in the states this week. So I can actually have a phone conversation with her for the next couple of days. YAY!!!

The more I sit here, the more I wish I didn't work graves. I don't see many people at this time of night. If I do, they are normally drunk. Sometimes it makes for a funny story but, most of the time its just annoying. The lack of human interaction makes for long nights that leave me very alone in the world. Everyone I know is sleeping... I hate it. Of course, on the other hand when I get home. Everyone is just getting ready for there day... It sucks. I guess if I was in school already, it wouldn't be so bad. I could use all the free time to do homework and projects. Alas, that seems like a far off dream at the moment. At least till I find other job that pays a bit more.

At the moment I wish I was at home in bed. I want to be back in bed. Lack of sleep really hurts when you are awake all night... I guess it'll just make falling asleep at home a lot easier in the morning.

It rained today. A lot in compared to the last couple of times. It was a nice change of pace and it made it a lot cooled tonight. I just dread the fact that it is going to be very humid tomorrow. Blah.... I think I have been spoiled with dry heat for a little too long. Oh well.

Hello World!

So my last blog went missing and now I feel the need to make a new one! Hopefully I can keep tabs on this one a little better.

Welcome to my life. My name is Steven Kroeger, A.K.A. Tristen. Long story short Tristen is just a nickname. Half my friends use it, half don't doesn't bother me either way. So where to start. I'm a total military brat. I've been all over this country and still have to much more to see. I've spent most of my life here in the city of sin, Las Vegas. Growing up here has been an experience to say the least. I can't say it was all good or bad. Just different when you compare to mst of my friends.

So I guess this is the place for me to vent and share my life with whoever I decide to share this blog with. I have not idea who that is at the moment. I'm sure I'll figure it out in due time though. I'm not going to write much at the moment considering I'm at work and I can't keep focus on writing while I am hammered by guest questions and phone calls. (Oh and random things breaking down...) Ugh.

I'll be sure to post more often now that I'll be a bit more mobile. Hopefully I get to it more often than the other blogs I keep attempting to make. :)
